SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL November 16, 2020 TOWN OF ADDISON CITY HALL 5300 BELT LINE ROAD, DALLAS, TX 75254 3:00 PM SPECIAL MEETING Notice is hereby given that the Town of Addison will conduct a SPECIAL CANVASS MEETING on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Addison City Hall to conduct the official Canvass of the November 3, 2020 Special to consider amendments to the Town of Addison Home Rule Charter. Pursuant to Texas Election Code Section 67.004 only two members of the council may constitute a quorum. This meeting is open to the public; however, limited seating for members of the public will be available using CDC recommended social distancing measures.

Present, Discuss, and Consider Action on an Ordinance Canvassing and Declaring the Results of a Special Charter Amendment Election Held in the Town of Addison, Texas on November 3, 2020.
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this agenda item is to canvass the Special Charter Amendment Election held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The Town submitted to the voters twenty-six (26) amendments to the Home Rule Charter. This item was presented for consideration at the November 10, 2020 Regular Meeting; however, since the Town had not received final results no action taken on the Ordinance. The official returns for the Special Election have now been received. Pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Texas Election Code Mayor Chow has set Monday, November 16, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. as the official canvass. The Election Code provides that a canvass can be conducted with only two Council Members required to constitute a quorum and take action.
RECOMMENDATION:
Administration recommends approval.
