Consider Action to Approve a Resolution to Appoint Ivan Hughes, Town of Addison Council Member, as the Primary Representative and Paul Voelker, City of Richardson Council Member, as the Alternate to the Aggregated Position of Representative to the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) of the North Central Texas Council of Governments.
BACKGROUND:
The Regional Transportation Council is a forty-four (44) member independent transportation policymaking body which determines how regional transportation funds should be spent. The municipalities of Richardson and Addison share one (1) representative. With this resolution, the City Council appoints Council Member Ivan Hughes as the primary representative with Richardson City Council Member Paul Voelker as the alternate representative. Both of these individuals are currently serving in their respective roles.
The City of Richardson and the Town of Addison rotate the appointments and collaborate together to ensure the interests of both cities are represented. In May 2018 with the adoption of Resolution No. R18-035, City of Richardson Council Member Steve Mitchell was appointed primary representative and Council Member Ivan Hughes was appointed Alternate. Mr. Voelker is replacing Council Member Mitchell from Richardson.
