Present, Discuss, And Consider Action To Appoint Members To The DART Cotton Belt Area Focus Group.
BACKGROUND:
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has established Area Focus Groups (AFG) to provide input on issues related to the Cotton Belt Rail project. To better address specific issues within the affected communities, DART is creating four AFGs based on geographic location along the Cotton Belt Rail Line.
Carrollton and Addison are grouped together into one of the four AFGs. DART has requested that each city appoint 10-14 representatives to this group. These appointments could be residents, business owners, or other interested stakeholders that could provide input and share information as the project progresses. The role of these ambassadors is to:
Provide input and assist in revolving issues
Develop support for the project
Disseminate information for their respective neighborhoods or groups
DART has indicated that these group meetings will start in late April and meet as necessary throughout the project.
