Present and Discuss Rules for Public Comments During Open Meetings.

BACKGROUND:

House Bill 2840 became law on September 1, 2019. This legislation created a right for members of the public to address the City Council at an open meeting of the Council. Staff will brief the Council on the law and discuss the Town's rules regarding public comments at open meetings. Staff seeks Council direction regarding updates to these rules.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff requests direction from Council.
