AGENDA CAPTION:

Consider Action to Approve a Resolution Delegating Supervision of the City Secretary and Day-to-Day Management of the City Secretary's Office to the City Manager.

BACKGROUND:

It is the desire of the City Council to delegate the day-to-day supervision of the City Secretary and their office to the City Manager in keeping with the City Manager’s responsibility to direct and supervise the administration of all departments, offices and agencies of the town.

The City Council, in keeping with the City Charter will retain the right, authority, and responsibility to appoint and remove the City Secretary. This action is being brought forward for consideration at the request of the City Council.

RECOMMENDATION:

Administration recommends approval.
