AGENDA CAPTION:

Present, Discuss, and Consider Action on a Resolution Appointing a Member to the Planning and Zoning Commission to Fill an Unexpired Term.

BACKGROUND:

The Planning & Zoning Commission members have 2 year terms which run concurrently with the Council Member who appointed them.

Denise Quintanilla was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission by Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore Tom Braun on November 14, 2017 for the term beginning on January 1, 2018. On May 11, 2018, Ms. Quintanilla notified the Town of her resignation by email. Council accepted Ms. Quintanilla's resignation at the May 22, 2018 Council meeting.

The resolution attached to this item will allow Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore Braun to appoint a member to fill this unexpired term which expires on December 31, 2019.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff requests direction from Council.
