Present, Discuss, and Consider Action on Appointing an Ad Hoc City Council Sub-Committee to Meet with Members of the Farmers Branch City Council to Discuss Potential Shared Service and Infrastructure Opportunities Between the Town of Addison and the City of Farmers Branch.

BACKGROUND:

At their May 7, 2019 City Council Study Session, the City of Farmers Branch discussed their Council’s desire to open a dialogue between the City of Farmers Branch and the Town of Addison to consider opportunities between the two communities for shared services (i.e. sharing of library services, senior center services, etc.) and potential infrastructure projects that would benefit community stake holders in both communities (like the potential extension of Bella Lane from the Vitruvian area to Alpha Road).

This item will allow the City Council to discuss the topics of shared services and infrastructure projects between Addison and Farmers Branch and consider appointing members of the Addison City Council to an Ad Hoc Council Sub-Committee to engage in a dialogue with members of the Farmers Branch City Council on these matters.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff requests direction from Council.
