Present and Discuss the Stainless Steel Sculpture Proposed to be Located at the Addison Conference & Theatre Center.

BACKGROUND:
The Addison Arbor Foundation (AAF) is proposing to locate a stainless steel sculpture within the half circle drive located in front of the Addison Conference and Theatre Center.  The sculpture is proposed to be placed at the terminus of the arbor walk in Addison Circle Park and will line up with the entrance to the park from the future DART Silver Line.  The sculpture finish will include a wire brushed texture and mirror finish and will be illuminated with color LED lights at night.  The sculpture including shipping, installation and all required infrastructure (geotechnical study, engineered foundation and lighting) is estimated to not exceed $65,000. The AAF plans to utilize Fiscal Year 2019 grant funds and requested Fiscal Year 2020 grants funds to pay for the project.  The specifications of this sculpture are included in the attached presentation.  The artist, Art Fairchild, will accompany the AAF and present a maquette of the proposed sculpture.

This agenda item is being discussed in Work Session to accommodate presentation of the sculpture maquette. A separate agenda item will seek Council approval of the proposed location.
