Hold A Public Hearing, Discuss, And Consider Action On An Ordinance To Amend The Comprehensive Land Use Plan In Order To Add A New Section Adopting The Findings Of The Inwood Road Special Area Study. Case 1754-Z/Town of Addison.

BACKGROUND:

On January 24, 2017, the findings of the Inwood Road Special Area Study were presented to the City Council. Following the presentation and Council discussion, staff was directed to bring forward the study findings for formal adoption. This is done through an amendment to the Comprehensive Land Use Plan that first requires consideration by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Attached is the draft Comprehensive Land Use Plan amendment that summarizes the study process, lists the proposed goals for future development along the Inwood Road corridor, presents the character district approach that would serve as the foundation for future zoning actions in the area, and provides two example concepts for development within the study area based on the study findings.

COMMISSION FINDINGS:

The Addison Planning and Zoning Commission, meeting in regular session on March 21, 2017, voted to recommend approval of an ordinance amending the Comprehensive Land Use Plan in order to adopt the findings of the Inwood Road Special Area Study, subject to no conditions.
