AGENDA CAPTION:

Consider action on a Resolution approving the annual purchase of miscellaneous electrical equipment, from Elliot's Electrical Supply Company, for town parks, recreation facilities, and beautification areas utilizing a Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative in an amount not to exceed $150,000 for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 and authorizing the City Manager to execute such purchase orders as may be necessary and providing an effective date.

BACKGROUND:

The Parks Department has earmarked $50,000 in the Department's FY2023-2024 Operations and Maintenance Budget to bolster the upkeep of lighting and electrical infrastructure across town parks, recreation facilities and beautification areas. Additional funds have also been designated in the self-funded account to address asset management needs to lights and electrical equipment in parks, recreation facilities, and beautification areas. This request also prepares the Parks Department to address any unforeseen damage to existing electrical and lighting equipment by provinding access to equipment and supplies on an as-needed basis, ensuring the continued safety and functionality of public spaces.

The Department seeks approval to acquire the requisite electrical equipment and supplies through BuyBoard, a state-wide collective purchasing agency. By leveraging BuyBoard's bidding process, the Department aims to secure competitive pricing and quality products. Elliot's Electrical Supply has been identified as the supplier of these items through BuyBoard.

RECOMMENDATION:

Administration recommends approval.
