AGENDA CAPTION:

Consider action on a Resolution appointing four (4) citizens to serve on the Board of Zoning Adjustment for two-year terms commencing January 1, 2024 and providing an effective date.

BACKGROUND:

Historically, the City Council reviews the standing board and commission memberships in the last quarter of each calendar year. Notifications were made to the community informing individuals interested in serving on the Board of Zoning Adjustment of the opportunity to apply. The application deadline was set for November 30, 2023. All current Board members were notified that their terms are expiring and were asked to complete and submit a new application indicating an interest in continuing their service. City Council members have been provided with a complete list of applicants and their respective applications.

The Board of Zoning Adjustment has four (4) members with terms expiring on December 31, 2023. The table below indicates the members' expiring terms and other important information. Board members may serve up to three (3) consecutive two-year terms. The next term of office begins in January 2024 and expires in December 2025.
