Consider action on the purchase of an asphalt trailer from Kirby Smith Machinery, Inc. through BuyBoard for an amount not to exceed $64,598.

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this item is to approve the purchase of a new asphalt trailer from Kirby Smith Machinery through BuyBoard for an amount not to exceed $64,598.

This item will be purchased through BuyBoard. This statewide collective purchasing agency bids out services and products for its members to provide the leverage needed to achieve better pricing on products, equipment, and services.

This trailer will allow maintenance crews to utilize hot mix asphalt to better patch roadways and improve crew efficiency. Details of the purchase can be found in the attached price quote.

This purchase was approved as a decision package as a part of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget process and is below the budgeted amount of $75,000.

RECOMMENDATION:

Administration recommends approval.
