The Town is using the professional services of Degy Booking International, Inc. to negotiate and secure performing talent for Town of Addison events. The company's reputation for securing and routing talent is highly regarded in the industry. This is the Town's fifth year using the agency's services, and the Town has been pleased with its ability to secure talent within the parameters of our music genres, the artists' routing availability, and remain within budget. As the talent producer, a representative of Degy Booking International, Inc. will be onsite for all performances booked through the agency. The fee for the company's services is 10% of the band's proceeds, with no commission from the gate or merchandise sales.
Following the professional guidance of Degy Booking and jumping on the nostalgia-filled culture of the 2020s, Special Events is targeting a demographic ages 21 - 39 with a full day lineup of pop punk bands on Saturday of Taste Addison 2023. Music artist, Boys Like Girls, will perform on Saturday evening at Taste Addison for 90 minutes as the headlining act. Boys Like Girls is a popular American rock band who released their debut album in 2006. The album went gold and breakthrough tracks like "The Great Escape" broke the band in the Billboard Mainstream Top 10 charts and cemented the band's stature in the pop-punk hierarchy. The cost of this talent is not to exceed $55,000. Funding for this entertainment agreement will come from the Hotel Fund.
The resolution approves the agreement between the Town of Addison and BLG Touring, Inc. for Taste Addison 2023.
