AGENDA CAPTION:

Present and Discuss the Town's Strategic Plan and Goal Setting for Fiscal Year 2023.

BACKGROUND:

Since 2016, Addison's City Council has met annually to discuss strategic questions and identify key priorities for the Town. A consultant from Strategic Government Resources (SGR) has lead these interactive discussions and aided the Council in identify Strategic Pillars and Milestones. The Council has annually adopted a resolution containing their Strategic Pillars and Milestones to provide clear direction to Staff as they developed their budgets and activities for the next fiscal year. Copies of the most recent resolution and SGR Report have been attached for review. Also attached is the Fiscal Year 2022 Second Quarter Strategic Planning Update showing progress toward these Pillars and Milestones.

Jennifer Fadden from SGR will facilitate Council's review and update of the Strategic Pillars and Milestones for the upcoming fiscal year. Jennifer joined SGR in 2018 and was named Chief Operating Officer in 2021. She retired from city management in 2017 after 22 years in local government, including 10 years as a city manager. She holds Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Master of Public Administration degrees from the University of North Texas. Jennifer is an International City/County Management Association Credentialed Manager. Jennifer was honored in 2012 by the North Central Texas Council of Governments with the Linda Keithley Award for Women in Public Management and by the University of North Texas Department of Public Administration as the Outstanding MPA Alumna for 2017.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff requests direction from Council.
