AGENDA CAPTION:

Consider Action on an Ordinance Revising Sec. 78-175 Overnight Parking of Certain Vehicles Within Residential Areas Prohibited and Sec. 78-286 Storage to Clarify Language for Enforcement of Commercial Vehicle Parking.

BACKGROUND:

At its December 14, 2021 Work Session, the City Council held a discussion and directed that the ordinances regarding residential commercial vehicle parking prohibitions and storage be amended. The proposed changes are:

Sec. 78-175 Overnight Parking of Certain Vehicles within Residential Areas Prohibited.

Revise the zoning language to include Planned Developments, Urban Centers and Mixed Use Residential districts as areas where the prohibition applies.
Change the truck capacity to more than 1 ton prohibited.

Sec. 78-236 Storage.

Revise the language to include Planned Developments, Urban Centers and Mixed Use Residential districts as areas where the prohibition applies.

RECOMMENDATION:

Administration recommends approval.
