AGENDA CAPTION:

Consider Action on a Resolution Accepting a Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP) Grant in the Amount of $50,000 from the Texas Department of Transportation - Aviation Division to the Addison Airport and Authorizing the City Manager to Execute the Necessary Contracts and Agreement.

BACKGROUND:

The Town of Addison annually receives a Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP) grant administered by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) - Aviation Divison. The grant funds can be used for maintenance and smaller capital improvement projects on the airport such as perimeter fencing, pavement repairs, pavement markings, construction of airport entrance roads, airfield lighting maintenance, and similar items. This year staff has earmarked the grant to be used for various pavement improvements including repairs to the vehicle service road that is just east of Taxiway Alpha.

The grant is a 50/50 matching grant, with $50,000 TxDOT Funds and $50,000 Town of Addison Airport funds. Grant funds are issued as a reimbursement of eligible expenses up to $100,000 total. The Town's matching funds are budgeted and available in the Airport Fund.

RECOMMENDATION:

Administration recommends approval.
