Present and Discuss Addison Athletic Club Services as it Transitions from COVID-19 Operations to Normal Operations.

BACKGROUND:

In December 2019, a novel (new) coronavirus known as SARS-CoV-2 was first detected and subsequently began causing outbreaks of the coronavirus disease, COVID-19, that spread globally. The virus is easily transmitted through person-to-person contact, especially in group settings. To help slow the spread of the virus, the Addison Athletic Club (AAC) closed on March 14th, 2020 and began offering virtual services only. On Monday, May 18th, the AAC welcomed patrons back into the facility with reduced hours of operation, reduced services and heightened health protocols as established by the Governor's Minimum Recommendations for Operating Gyms and Exercise Facilities.

Recently, Texas Governor Gregg Abbott issued Executive Order GA-34 that fully opened all business and ended the statewide mask mandate effective on March 10, 2021. This order also rescinded many previous executive orders related to the pandemic. Executive Order GA-34 did state that, "nothing in this executive order precludes businesses or other establishments from requiring employees or customers to follow hygiene measures, including the wearing of a face covering." This allowed the existing COVID-19 precautions to remain in place at the AAC as staff developed a transition plan for moving from COVID-19 operations to normal operations. Staff has developed a proposed plan for a transition from current operations to normal operations once herd immunity is reached. Area health officials estimate herd immunity will be reached in June or July of 2021. Staff will give a presentation of the proposed transition plan for the AAC.
