Present and Discuss Amending the Fee Schedule Related to the Provision of Ambulance Services.

BACKGROUND:

During the development of the Fire Department’s Fiscal Year 2020-2021 budget, Fire Department Staff identified that the Town’s current Emergency Medical Services (EMS) fee schedule was lower than some of our comparison cities and the levels deemed "reasonable and customary" in the industry. The department sought input from our Emergency Medical Services billing provider, Emergicon. They helped identify areas where the Town could amend our fees. The last EMS fee schedule amendment by the Town of Addison was in October 2017.

Staff seeks Council input on amendments to the current Emergency Medical Services fee schedule. The proposed adjustment will increase the Town’s EMS fee revenues by an estimated $23,445 per year.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff requests direction from Council.
